Entrepreneurial motivations and entrepreneurial personality traits of small and medium-sized business owners, who make up a large part of the employment in our country, were examined in terms of food and beverage companies. The sample of research is composed of 249 small and medium-sized F&B companies operating in Muğla. In this context, motivation elements, and personality traits that contribute entrepreneurship were first determined, and the relationship between them was analyzed. Then, it was measured whether the motivational elements of these who own a family company and ones who own a self-established company. According to results of the research, it is determined that the most important motivational factor that pushes owners of small and medium-sized F&B company to entrepreneurship is opportunity-oriented, and there is a meaningful relationship between motivational factors and some personality traits. In addition, the most important motivational factors of entrepreneurs who have selfestablished company are making better Money, having a better future, filling the gap in the market, proving themselves to the market, leaving a job for their children, obtaining financial independence and making business without family pressure.
