The current study aimed of this study is to determine classroom teacher candidates’ awareness about "global warming and climate change". The study was carried out with 270 pre-service primary teachers enrolling two different state universities in Turkey during 2016-2017 spring semester. In this study, survey method was used. Climate Awareness Scale which was used for data collection. The data was analyzed by using mean scores, standard deviation, frequencies and percentages. Results indicated that the awareness of pre- service primary teachers’ regarding of the reason and impacts of climate change, the importance of individual initiative as well as the propensity for behavioral change. On the other hand, teacher candidates were less aware about what the industrial initiatives can do when compared to other dimensions (M=2.84). The results showed that pre-service primary teachers were quite aware of many effects of climate change, such as the melting of glaciers and the increase in global heating as well as aware about the individual initiatives (using solar energy and reducing the use of unnecessary lights).
