Abstract:

Logistics is a young sector in Turkey, and it has made progress in recent years. Turkey, being advantageously positioned between Middle East, Turkic Nations and Europe, serves as a transfer center between these regions; which is why many authorities claim it will, or already has become a logistics base. Local companies not only compete among themselves, but also compete with international companies Economical periods characterized by unstable or indefinite conditions, and especially crises have affected companies in different ways. According to forecasts concerning the future of the sector, 3.PLs will spend the oncoming periods with efforts of structurization and public relations, outsourcing will continue to find use and important events will take place, i.e. foreign investments,some companies leaving the sector, etc. This paper discusses the increasing number of successes, development potential and competition vision of the logistics sector from a frame that includes executives’ opinions.
