Abstract:

The country’s views of domestic security have changed completely over the past thirty years. For the time of the Cold War, national security was not as important as national security. Today, globalization contributes to the sharing of knowledge, wealth and products between societies. But it is clear that tensions between states, economic inequalities, cultural, religious and ethnic exclusions are also reduced to the individual level. It is necessary that the change in the internal security understanding finds a response in the public administration. In fact, the changing needs of domestic security reflected the reorganization of public administration, the strengthening of specialization and interinstitutional coordination. The training of the law enforcement forces, which is the core element of internal security, in order to meet today’s security needs, is indispensable. The aim of the study in this scope is to provide an example of a police officer academic training and career model in the context of today’s internal security and public administration approach. The study was carried out on a theoretical basis by scanning literature. In this context, first, the changing needs of the internal security approach have been explained, followed by the reflection of the security field in education and new expectations in the understanding of public administration. Finally, the academic and career plan relating to the Jandarma officer was presented as an example of a bachelor's degree and a top-level career training model.
