Ortaokul Öğrencilerinin Fen-Teknoloji-Mühendislik-Matematik (FeTeMM) Mesleklerine Yönelik İlgi Düzeylerinin İncelenmesi

Bu araştırmada, ortaokul öğrencilerinin FeTeMM mesleklerine yönelik ilgileri cinsiyet, anne öğrenim durumu, baba öğrenim durumu, öğrenim görülen sınıf seviyesi ve gelir durumu, değişkenlerine göre incelenmiştir. Araştırmada tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında, Kier, Blanchard, Osborne ve Albert (2013) tarafından geliştirilen, Ünlü, Dökme ve Ünlü (2016) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan “Fen, Teknoloji, Matematik ve Mühendislik Mesleklerine Yönelik İlgi Ölçeği” ve araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “Kişisel Bilgiler Formu” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kullanılan veriler 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında Gaziantep ili Şahinbey ilçesinde bulunan Nuri Pazarbaşı Ortaokuluna devam eden 200 öğrenciden toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucu, ortaokul öğrencilerinin FeTeMM mesleklerine yönelik ilgi düzeylerinin cinsiyet, anne öğrenim durumu, baba öğrenim durumu ve öğrenim görülen sınıf seviyesi, değişkenlerinde anlamlı fark olduğunu göstermiştir. Çalışmada ortaokul öğrencilerinin FeTeMM mesleklerine yönelik ilgi düzeyleri gelir durumu değişkenine göre incelendiğinde ise anlamlı fark bulunamamıştır.

Abstract:

In this study, the interest of secondary school students towards STEM professions was examined according to gender, mother's education level, father's education level, grade level of education and income level were determined. The screening model was used in the study. In the collection of data, developed by Kier, Blanchard, Osborne and Albert (2013), "The Scale of Interest on Science, Technology, Maths and Engineering Professions" which was adapted to the Turkish by Famous, Dökme and Famous (2016) and developed by the researcher in "Personal Information Form" is used. The data used in the study were collected from 200 students attending Nuri Pazarbaşı High School in the Gaziantep Şahinbey during 2017-2018 academic year. As a result of the research, the level of interest of secondary school students towards STEM professions; gender, mother's education level, father's education level, and grade level of education. In the study, when the levels of interest of secondary school students towards STEM professions were examined according to income level variable, no significant difference was found.
