Innovative ideas in the Islamic world have manifested itself as from the first half of the nineteenth century. One of the discourses that revealed in this context is the movement called “Ehl-i Qur’an” or “Kur’âniyyûn”. The movement which accepts Koran enough by oneself and does not find sources other than Koran sufficient occurred in Hindu subcontinent first. Afterward, related movement of idea mustered up support in Arab countries as well, notably Egypt. For followers, the most remarkable effect that dynamizes the movement is the defeat status in many fields against the Western world. They have accepted change in religion approach as irreplaceable; however, some of the demand for change turned into interventions to religion itself. They also differ from mainstream religion approach at many points and were exposed to serious critiques in their region. One of the supporters of related movement in Egypt is Muhammed Abû Zayd. Abû Zayd “el-Hidâye who also took a lesson in center of Raşid Rıza in Cairo wrote a short book called ‘’ve’l-irfân fî tefsîri’l-Kur’ân bi’l-Kur’ân’’. Abû Zayd maintained aforesaid mentality in his notes and comments for verses of Koran as the occasion arises. Specific explanations in a related book will be analyzed and evaluated in this study. Thus, it is aimed to contribute to discussions within the context of similar approaches that remain on the agenda in our country from time to time.
