Abstract:

This research was carried out with the aim of revealing the problem of social exclusion and conflict, which refugees and immigrants students are living or likely to live, and assessing the problem within the framework of school social services. For this purpose, 16 students who have studied in Turkey in the age range of 7-20 years and who have seen a period of study have been taken into the research sample of the Karabük Refugee and Migrant Resistance Association (SGDD). The research data was collected by face-to-face interviews with the students. The study analyzed the facts of social exclusion and collapse that students experience in schools. According to the research, refugees and migrants have been found to be discriminatory by their teachers in schools, not supported in academic success, ignored, and received by their friends with labeling and judging attitudes. These findings have shown that refugee immigrant students are forced to be unconscious to academic success. According to the findings obtained, students have not been aware of the lack of guidance services in schools to solve problems, the lack of sleep activities, the lack of knowledge of the children’s guidance services and the presence of psychological consultants in schools. The awareness of refugee and immigrant students to solve problems should be raised not only to the problems of refugee and immigrant children, but also to the staff, students and guardians in the school. Following compliance programs and ways to solve problems, the guidance services in schools should be supported by different professional members (social worker, psychologist) and school social services units should be established.
