Elective lessons start with secondary schools and continue at high school and universities. It is very important that these courses are freely chosen and processed efficiently The reasons such as lack of specialist staff, constant change of classes, equipment problems, etc., suggest that the mission loaded in elective courses is fulfilled. The research was planned from the point of view of this problem and some dimensions related to elective courses were evaluated according administrators. The research was conducted on 230 teachers and 15 school administrators working in Elazığ and Bingöl provincial centers and some of the districts of these provinces according to the survey model. As the data collection tool in the research, "Determination of selection criteria of elective courses" questionnaire developed by Demirbaş (2008) was used. According to the teachers and administrators, there is a priority problem in the execution of elective lessons in the school. When teachers' opinions on the factors taken into consideration in the selection of elective courses in schools are examined; While the elective courses are determined in the first place, the "possibilities of the school" is dominant, according to the administrators, it is stated as "student wants". It has also been determined that most of the teachers entered elective courses outside the branch. Teacher occupation is a required profession, so it is necessary to employ teacher as soon as possible according to the related fields that can give elective courses
