Roman law expresses the legal system adopted that the territories under domination of the Roman state, which a world empire is extending from a city state. However, the influence of the Roman law is not only restricted by the ancient period. As the validity of the Roman law is maintained all through the medieval, notably it should be noted that modern legal systems initially the institutions of private law is significantly affected by the Roman law. Many legal categories from property law to contract law that feed on from the Roman law also draw attention.In this study, the development of the Roman law won’t only be considered within the framework of the factors connected with law. In the historical period with a sociological perspective will be attempted to interpret the alteration of law by establishing a connection with the events that took place in the Roman state. Therefore, on the examination of the Roman law, the effects of Roman political history, economic development and social events will be taken into account. In this context, the issues like the consequences of the economic and political struggles and the class wars between the plebs and patricians, the impact on the public order of Rome that becoming an empire from the city state and after the emerges of Christianity its quickly gained followers among the people living in the territory of Rome will be searched. These events’ results in the structure of traditional Roman state and what kind of transformations caused on the Roman law will be discussed
