Geniş ekonomik büyüme literatürü ekonomik büyüme üzerine doğrudan yabancı yatırımların pozitif yönde etki ettiğini göstermektedir. Doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar ekonomik büyümeye finansman olanağı sağlaması, ödemeler dengesini iyileştirmesi, teknolojik yenilikleri ve bilgi birikimini ülkeye taşıması ile olumlu etkiler yaratmaktadır. Bu nedenle gelişmekte olan ülkeler doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarını kendi ülkelerine çekmek için çalışmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Orta Asya ülkelerine gelen doğrudan yabancı sermaye yatırımlarının bu ülkelerin ekonomik büyümesine olan etkilerini incelemektir. Bu amaçla 1995-2017 yıllarına ait verilerle Panel ARDL testi yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre Orta Asya ülkelerinde doğrudan yabancı yatırımların %1’lik artışı GSYH’yı %0.9 arttırmaktadır. Buna ek olarak ihracat ve sanayi değişkenlerinin de ekonomik büyüme üzerine pozitif etkisi bulunmaktadır.
The widespread economic growth literature shows that foreign investments have a positive impact on economic growth. Direct foreign investments have a positive impact with the possibility of financing economic growth, improving the balance of payments, bringing technological innovations and knowledge to the country. Therefore, developing countries are trying to draw foreign capital investments directly to their own countries. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of foreign capital investments directly into the countries of Central Asia on the economic growth of these countries. For this purpose, the Panel ARDL test was carried out with data from 1995-2017 years. According to the results of the study, a 1% increase in foreign direct investments in Central Asian countries increases GDP by 0.9%. In addition, exports and industrial variables have a positive impact on economic growth.
The literature of the economic growth shows that foreign direct investment has generally positive effects on the economic growth. Foreign direct investments create positive effects in the process of emerging countries’ development such as financing the economic development, improving the balance of payments, transferring the technological innovations and accumulation of knowledge into the country. Therefore, emerging countries aim to attract foreign direct investment to their country. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of foreign direct investment in the Central Asian countries on the economic growth of these countries. For this purpose, the panel ARDL test was conducted with the data of 1995-2017. According to the results of the study, 1% increase in foreign direct investments in Central Asian countries increases the GDP by 0.9%. In addition, export and industry variables have positive effects on economic growth.
