Bu çalışmada; Bir zamanlar Kayseri’nin geleneksel kent dokusunun yapı taşlarından olan özgünlüğü ve prestijli yapısı ile şehrin vitrini olarak tanımlanan Sivas caddesinin kentin kamusal alanı olarak, caddede yürüme, izleme, izlenme, boş zamanlarını değerlendirme vb. kültürel ve sosyal pratiklerin oluşturduğu yatkınlık ve eğilimlerin, caddenin eski özgünlüğünü ve prestijini kaybetmesi ile birlikte nasıl değiştiği habitus kavramı üzerinden incelenecektir. Günümüzde küreselleşme ile birlikte kentler aidiyet duygusunu oluşturan özgün kent kimliklerini kaybetme tehdidi ile karşı karşıya kalmaktadır. Bu yüzden kent kimliği ve kent kimliğini oluşturan unsurlar büyük önem kazanmaktadır. Bu bağlamda Sivas caddesinde yapılan yol çalışmaları ile caddedeki ticari, sosyal, kültürel, dokulardaki tahribatın kent kimliğine etkisi caddenin şu an ki formu ve geçmişteki biçimi ile karşılaştırılarak ele alınacaktır. Caddedeki köklü değişimin kültürel aktarıma ve kolektif belleğe etkisi, dönüşüme şahit olan insanlar ile yapılan derinlemesine görüşme ve katılımcı gözlem yolu ile incelenecektir.
In this study; the originality and prestigious structure of the former Kayseri traditional city textile, which is a building stone, and the city's showroom is defined as the city's public area of the Sivas street, walking on the street, watching, watching, evaluating their leisure time, etc. The habitus concept will be studied through how the tendencies and trends formed by cultural and social practices change along with the loss of the street’s ancient originality and prestige. Nowadays, along with globalization, cities are faced with the threat of losing their original city identities that form the feeling of membership. Therefore, the elements that make up the city identity and the city identity gain great importance. In this context, the road works on the Sivas street and the impact of the commercial, social, cultural, and textile destruction on the city identity of the street will be addressed by comparing the current form and former form of the street. The impact of root change in the street on cultural transmission and collective memory will be studied through deep conversations with people who witness the transformation and participating observation.
