Bu çalışmanın amacı, uluslararası öğrencilerin başarılarını etkileyen faktörleri tespit etmektir. Yapılacak tespitler doğrultusunda uluslararası öğrencilerin başarılarının artmasına katkı sağlayacak öneriler sunması açısından bu çalışma önemli görülmektedir. Bu araştırma, betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılarak yapılan nitel bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın evreni 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Kayseri’de eğitim gören yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerden oluşmakta olup, örneklemi ise 2018-2019 eğitim-öğretim yılında Erciyes Üniversitesi ERSEM’de öğrenim gören 48 yabancı uyruklu öğrencilerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmanın veri toplama aracını araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş ve bir bilim uzmanı tarafından incelenmiş anket formu oluşturmaktadır. Anket formunun içeriğini demografik bilgiler ve açık uçlu sorular oluşturmaktadır. Elde edilen verilerin çözümlemesinde içerik analizi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda, uluslararası öğrencilerin başarılarını etkileyen faktörlerin aile desteği, disiplinli çalışmak, arkadaş/çevre ortamları, özgüvenin olması ve zamanı iyi değerlendirmenin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu bulgular ışığında, uluslararası öğrencilerin başarılarını etkileyenönemli faktörlerin ailelerinin desteği, disiplinli çalışmak ve arkadaş ortamları ve çevreleri olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.
The aim of this study is to identify the factors that affect the success of international students. This study is important in order to provide recommendations that will contribute to the improvement of international students’ achievements. This research is a qualitative study done using a scanning model from the visual research methods. The universe of the study consists of foreign nationals students studying in Kayseri in the 2018-2019 educational year, and the sample consists of 48 foreign nationals students studying in ERSEM at Erciyes University in the 2018-2019 educational year. The data collection tool of the study is a survey form developed by the researcher and studied by a scientific expert. The contents of the survey form form form demographic information and open-end questions. Analysis of data is used to analyze the data obtained. The analysis found that the factors affecting international students’ achievements are family support, disciplinary work, friendship/environment, self-confidence and good time assessment. In light of these findings, important factors affecting international students’ achievements have been the support of their families, disciplined work and friendly environments and their surroundings.
