İslam felsefesi literatürüne Doğuşundan Günümüze İslam Felsefesi şeklinde tercüme edilen kitabıyla yapmış olan Roy Jackson, bu eserini teknik hatalar barındırmasına rağmen daha önce karşılaşılmamış bir üslupla kaleme alınmıştır. Bu eseriyle yazar, kronolojik bir silsile takip etmekten ziyade, tarihî ve güncel meseleler üzerinden İslam düşüncesini okuma önerisinde bulunmaktadır. Kitap, İslam felsefesi tarihinde derinleşmek isteyenlerden çok İslam düşüncesinin ahlâk, siyaset ve teoloji gibi muhtelif alanlarında bilgi sahibi olmak isteyen okurlara yönelik bir mahiyet taşımaktadır.
Roy Jackson, who has written his book translated from Birth to Today in the form of Islamic Philosophy to the literature of Islamic Philosophy, has made his work, despite technical errors, with a style that has not previously been met. With this work, the author suggests to read the Islamic thought on historical and current issues rather than to follow a chronological silsile. The book brings a message to readers who want to learn more about the history of Islamic philosophy than those who want to learn more about the various fields of Islamic thought, such as ethics, politics and theology.
Owing to the fact that Roy Jackson’s book which translated into Turkish as Doğuşundan Günümüze İslam Felsefesi contains technical shortcomings, his style is considerably new and unprecedented in Islamic philosophy litterateur. In this work, the author proposes to read the thought of Islam through historical and contemporary topics instead of pursuing chronological order. The book is intended for readers who wish to have knowledge in various fields of Islamic thought, such as ethics, politics and theology, rather than those who want to deepen in the history of Islamic philosophy.
