Purposes of this study were to discuss the “modern sport” phenomenon with a postcolonial critical approach, display the place of the sports in the postcolonial structure through sport labour immigration and explain the situation in Turkey. According to this point of view, sport has built upon the old colonial structure and economic gap between the colony and colonialist states has deepened with this order. In sport area, worlds’ powerful economies inevitably became a central of attraction and it reinforced the immigration of talents in developing countries with low costs. Although it would be acceptable for these individual immigration of these talented players to the rich countries or their big clubs which affirmed as the holders of global sports economy means systematic “deskilling” for their home countries. On the other hand, parallel to this postcolonial order, countries which have no formal colonial ties like Turkey have some immigrant-shaped sport branches. Also, these countries sport systems serve the postcolonial order through allowing elder players with astronomic contracts.
