Abstract:

Writing anxiety is a stress reaction that a person experiences before or during writing. This situation leads to behaviors such as avoiding the writing process, unwilling to write, negatively affects the writing skill and tendency, prevents the acquisition of the writing habit. The aim of this research is to develop a reliable and valid Writing Anxiety Scale in order to measure the writing concerns of high school students. Opening factor analysis 503, test-up test process 165, verifying factor analysis was carried out on 509 high school students. As a result of the opening factor analysis, the structure of the three-factor scale of the 26 matters with a total variance value of 40.55% was verified by the verifying factor analysis (x2=629.02, sd=296, RMSEA=.047, NFI=.94, NNFI=. 96, GFI=.91, AGFI=.90, CFI=.97, SRMR=.052). In this scale, the overall and sub-dimensions of the scale, with Crombach's Alpha, Spearman Brown and Guttman Split-Half reliability values, the sub-dimensions of the scale were found to be more than 70% of the structure reliability and the internal consistency rate obtained by the test re-test process. It can be said that according to these results a reliable and valid Writing Anxiety Scale has been achieved.
