Abstract:

One of the topics frequently addressed in Turkish literature along with Tanzimat is corruption or alienation to national culture. In other words, the devastating effects of foreignization to national culture from the Tanzimat period to the present day on the individual and society are discussed especially in the novels. Some writers describe the negative effects of increasing corruption on the romantic persons with the Tanzimat Period and point out how the issue affects the individual and the society through the individual, while some writers also remove the romantic persons "stranged to their own culture" after a while, by removing this identity to the "responsible/ideal person" of the "responsible/ideal person". Most of them are known as the Right Celis in the Rental Conak. In this study, the focus will be on those who are "journalist" from such novel persons. Refik Erduran's Rain Prayer (1954), Kemal Tahir's Prison City People (1956), Attilâ Ilhan's Wolves Sofras (1963), The End of the Knife (1973), Yaraya Salt Basmak (1978) and Meliha Iksel's Crazy Girl (1960) in his novels, we also meet journalists who first became "stranger to the national culture" but later "idealist identity". The journalists in the novels we mentioned give clues to determine how people who suffered cultural corruption have an ideal clear identity.
