So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Especially in the provinces, by producing practical solutions Ottoman architecture reservoir applied different methods to meet the need. For this purpose, it is seen that as economic deterioration made itself apparent in an advanced stage and there weren't any competent constructors, in the XIX. Century and beyond more economical applications were carried out to meet the need in urban SCALE. Social needs of the city were fulfilled with the reuse of the monuments that were already found places in the city zoning but which took idle positions in the course of time and whose foundations corrupted. The change in the functions of the structures of two hammams in Sivas can be shown as one of the best examples for this situation. Of these, the room of soyunmalık- the space the people can get dressed or undressed before and after bathing- of “Behram Paşa Hammam” or colloquially “Kurşunlu Hammam” in Sivas city center, converted into mosque and the process of this change can be traced very clearly in the documents of the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives. Sivas Gemerek–Çepni Village Hamam, numbered 1, is another example for this application and in accordance with hand-carved patterns located on existing ruıns and inscriptions, it has been concluded that similar application had been carried out. In this study, the structures will be discussed in detail by putting emphasis on the documents and the findings of the transformation of these two hammams.
