The purpose of this study was to examine early adolescentsâ levels of irrational beliefs in regard to some socio-demographic characteristics. The Irrational Beliefs Scale for Adolescents, developed by Çivitci (2006), and a personal information form were given to 405 students from 6th to 8th grades. Data were analyzed by one-way analysis of variance, t-test, and non-parametric tests. The findings of the study indicated that there were significant differences amongst studentsâ levels of irrational beliefs in terms of parentsâ educational level, perceived parental attitudes, perceived academic achievement, and the number of siblings. There were no differences observed in terms of gender, age, grade, motherâs job status and family structure.
