Although history as a separate branch of science cannot be very old, it is possible to take the roots of Islamic economics until the time of the birth of Islam. İslâm, encompassing all aspects of life, has set principles and rules in economic content to its first interlocutors who live in an area where commercial activities. In the tradition of classical Islamic sciences, although there is no special branch dedicated to economic subjects, it is seen that some of the Islamic sciences, including fiqh, deal with these issues. In this context, fiqh, which aims to the understanding of Nass, how to apply it correctly and to apply it to new situations, has made a great contribution to the development of economic understanding. A close examination of the fiqh accumulation of fourteen centuries of rich will be instrumental in achieving sound information on Islamic economics as well as many other fields of science. The determination of the place of economic thought in classical fiqh works is also important in this regard. In this article, nature, sources, characteristics, aims and historical accumulation of Islamic economy will be covered in the context of fiqh science and the role of fiqh in the development process of Islamic economy will be discussed. In addition, based on the classification of scholars who pioneered the thought of Islamic economics, the role of fukaha in the emergence of Islamic economics in the 20th century will be emphasized.
