Abstract:

The relationship between cinema and literature in history is one of the notable, common forms of the relationship between cinema and other arts.  This dynamic relationship, argued by popular, commercial or aesthetic concerns, has brought different dimensions, such as subject, speech, industry, and aesthetic forms.  The influence of literature, especially the novel, has been great in both the formation and development of the cinema language; it has held a romantic place in the adaptations. Literature has also taken advantage of the possibilities of the film's narrative, especially in terms of formal characteristics. However, in the assessment of this mutual relationship, the written text was taken as a criterion of loyalty, based on the assumption that literature is superior to the cinema, and in this regard this relationship and adaptations were often predictive and negative. But the concept of loyalty, which is a moral concept and is based on a devotion to the source blind text, is insufficient and restrictive in terms of understanding the nature of this complex and diverse relationship. The concept of transformation based on a metaphor of intertextuality based on the concept of dialogue (conversation) of Bakhtin in the written film adaptations, in the assessment of the relationship between different texts, the source has the potential to exceed the limits of the form of view based on loyalty to the text. The aim of this study is to build on the Bakhtinyen perspective, which has the foundation to connect with all the potential of culture, a more circular and multi-class approach to adaptations, unstable to ethical speech. For this purpose, the limitations of the measurement containing source text loyalty will be discussed in the first, written adaptations, and then a more competent and productive approach will be developed in the axis of Bakhtin's "inter-text dialogue" concept, which will enable all open-air communication possibilities in the film-literature relationship to overcome these limitations.
