Abstract:

The aim of this research is to analyze the impact of the aircraft crisis between Russia and Turkey on the financial performance of tourism enterprises trading in the Borsa Istanbul with the help of financial rates. For this purpose, the liquidity, financial structure, activity, profitability and stock exchange performance of 11 tourism enterprises in the 2014-2015 pre-crisis period and the 2016-2017 post-crisis period have been measured by the financial ratio analysis method. It was also tested with the Wilcoxon Signed Order Test that there was a statistically meaningful difference in the financial performance context between the pre-crisis and post-crisis period. The analysis found that in the post-crisis period the liquidity rates, the turn rate, the net profit margin and the capital profitability rates had decreased. Nevertheless, the total and short-term lift rates, the active turn rate, the stock turn rate, the active profit rate and the price profit rate have increased. The study found that when compared the average of all the financial rates lastly calculated with the pre-crisis and post-crisis period, the difference between them was not statistically meaningful.
