Abstract:

The experience of ‘todayness’ interminably made by modernism has been consolidated by the cyberspace (the internet) in the 21st century. While recollecting the inborn flow of the cybernetics, the subject of this investigation is Facebook developed as a community action basically in 2007 and involves many adolescents with an open identification in a virtual domain. What lies underneath the cyber spatiality? How Facebook has become well known among the other social networking sites serving as a space of the group and creativity. How the adolescents set up another self in this medium aggravating the mind-body dilemma? What kind of representations are the virtual collectives? In this context, hypothesis of this study is that the social media sites, which call, revive or redesign the memory of youth as a recollecting procedure, constitute a public space and postspatialize people’s social reactions, objectives and shares. In the analysis of this hypothesis within the framework of source management, the potentiality of social media sites was defined. The ‘today thought’ working as a daily paper tradition utilized by Facebook creates a space where generations grown and change. Virtual situations make the second space (internet) a genuine option. In an environment where reality-virtuality continuum exists, it is hard to recognize what is vital. Starting here of perspective, cyberspace needs a hypothetical consideration for its advanced spatiality of addictive practices.
