Abstract:

It is known that there are many structures that influence a quality marriage relationship. Relational characteristics of spouses, based on the ways in which they position themselves in their marriage relationships, are important parameters with the ability to influence the quality of the marriage relationship. This study aims to study the quality of marriage relationships in the context of self-diversification and relative originality. The study group consisted of a total of 480 married individuals between 18 and 63 years of age, 251 women and 229 men. The research data was obtained using the scale of self-diversification, the scale of authenticity in relationships, the scale of the quality of the detected romantic relationship and the personal information form. Measurement tools made into an online form were delivered to the participants with the help of various communication means (social media, e-mail). In the analysis of the data, the SPSS 22 statistical package program was used. The research was carried out in a qualitative method-based correlational research model. As a result of the analysis, significant relationships have been established between the quality of the marriage relationship, the differentiation of self and the relative originality. According to the results of the hierarchical regression analysis, the quality of the marriage relationship, which is from the subdimensions of self-diversification, is from the subdimensions of self-diversification and the subdimensions of relative originality and emotional cutting. The results reveal the relationship of self in the cultural background with the quality of marriage relationship. The findings have been discussed in the framework of research and cultural context in the field of marriage and family consultancy.
