Türklerden yaklaşık dört yüz yıl önce Arapların, en az yüz yıldır da Farsların İslam dini ile ilgili terminolojiyi oluşturup geliştirdikleri bilinmektedir. Türkler İslamiyeti kabul ettiklerinde hazır bir dini terminoloji ile karşılaşmalarına rağmen ilk İslami dönem eserlerinde bunları Türkçeleştirme yoluna gitmişlerdir. Aynı çaba Kur’an tercümeleri ve diğer eserlerde de görülmektedir. Türkçede var olan, Bayat, İdi, Ugan, tapug vb. sözcükler, sırasıyla Kadim, Rab, Kadir, ibadet terimlerine karşılık olarak kullanılmışlardır. Kur’an tercümelerinde de “Allah” adının karşılıkları Türkçe olarak kullanılmışlardır. Bu çalışmada Allah’ın 99 ismi olan Esma’ül Hüsna'nın da değişik Türkçeleştirilme yolları incelenmektedir.

Despite the Turks were faced with a ready-made religious terminology when they accepted this religion, they converted into Turkish language these in the initial Islamic period works. The same effort is also seen in Quran translations and other works. Words existing in Turkish like 'Bayat, Idi, Ugan, tapug, etc.' Were used in place of terms 'Kadim, Lord, Kadir, worship' respectively. In Quran translations, also words covering the meaning of the specific name "Allah" were used. In this study, the 'Essma'ul-Hüsna' which is consisted of the 99 holy names of Allah different translate into Turkish types are investigated.
