Abstract:

Italian composer Domenico Dragonetti is one of the most important composers in the solo counterbas history. Since the classic period has reached maturity in its works, it can also see traces from the Romantic Period. This study first referred to the history of the "concerto" and then described the development of solo contrabase in the Classical Period. Later, after a general look at Domenico Dragonetti's life and works, the composer's "La Major Contrabas Concert" was technically studied.

Italian composer Domenico Dragonetti is the one of the most important composers of solo contrabass history. It’s quite possible to see some impressions of romantic era since he has reached his majority during the final period of classical era. Initially, this study touches upon the history of concerto then progress of contrabass during the classical era has been explained. Afterwards, composer’s “La Major Double Bass Concerto” was technically explained after an overwiev of Domenico Dragonetti’s life and works.
