Öz Esere de adını veren Taras Bulba, cesur bir Kazak askeridir. Kendisi gibi iki oğlunu da savaşçı olarak yetiştirmek isteyen Bulba’nın hayatı savaş meydanlarında geçmektedir. Eserin önemli bir kısmında Kazakların, Lehlilerle yapmış oldukları savaşlara yer verilmesine rağmen, kitabın en başından itibaren Kazakların geleneksel düşmanı olarak Türkler gösterilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, eserdeki Türk imajı üç alt başlığa ayrılarak incelenmektedir. İlk olarak, Kazakların en azılı düşmanları: Türkler başlığında Türkler ve Ruslar arasındaki düşmanlığın aslında dini sebeplere dayandığına, Türklerle mücadele sırasında esir düşüp tekrar ülkelerine dönebilmeyi başaran Kazak askerlerinin kahraman olarak gösterildiğine detaylı bir şekilde değinilmektedir. Çalışmadaki diğer bir alt başlık da Türklerin dış görünüşleri ve dini inançlarıdır. Bu bölümde de Türklerin kabul etmiş olduğu islam dininin dış görünüşlerine yansımasının esere aktarılışı üzerinde durulmaktadır. Son olarak da Türk ürünleri adlı bölümde eserde geçen Türk ürünleri ve bunların kalite değerleri incelenmektedir. Tarihi bir eser niteliği taşıyan Taras Bulba, dönemin şartlarında Türklerin Ruslar üzerinde bırakmış oldukları imajı net bir şekilde çizmektedir. Bulba who wants to raise his two sons as warriors lives on the battlefield. Although an important part of the work includes the battles of the Cossacks with the Polish, from the beginning of the book, Turks are shown as the traditional enemies of the Cossacks. In this study, the Turkish image in the work is examined under three subheadings. First, the most fierce enemies of the Cossacks: In the title of Turks, it is mentioned in detail that the enmity between the Turks and the Russians is based on religious reasons and that the Cossacks soldiers who are captured during the struggle against the Turks and managed to return to their countries are shown as heroes. Another subheading in the study is the external appearance and religious beliefs of the Turks. In this section, it is emphasized that the reflection of Islam accepted by the Turks to their external appearances is transferred to the work. Finally, the Turkish products and their quality values are examined in the Turkish products section. Taras Bulba as a historical work clearly shows the image that Turks left on the Russians under the conditions of the period. Taras Bulba is a brave Kazak soldier. Bulba's life, who wants to raise his two sons as a warrior, is on the battlefields. In a significant part of the work, although the Kazak have been involved in the wars they have done with the Lehls, from the bookmaker, the Turkish people are shown as the traditional enemy of the Kazak. In this study, the Turkish image in the work is studied by dividing into three subtitles. First, the Kazakish enemies: in the Turkish title, the hostility between the Turks and the Russians is actually based on religious reasons, and the Kazak soldiers who were captured during the fight with the Turks and were able to return to their countries are shown as heroes. Another subtitle in the study is the external appearances and religious beliefs of the Turks. This section also focuses on the translation of the reflection of the external appearances of the Islamic religion that the Turks accept. Finally, the Turkish products and their quality values are examined in the Turkish products section. Taras Bulba, which has a historic character, clearly depicts the image that the Turks left on the Russians in the conditions of the time.
