Bazı referans noktalarına göre ülkelerin eğitim alanında hangi düzeyde olduğunun, giderilmesi gereken eksikliklerin ve alınması gereken tedbirlerin belirlenmesi amacıyla OECD tarafından üçer yıllık dönemler hâlinde, 15 yaş grubundaki öğrencilerin kazanmış oldukları bilgi ve becerileri değerlendiren PISA araştırması yürütülmektedir. Türkiye’de bir OECD üyesi olarak, eğitim düzeyinin yükseltilmesi amacıyla araştırmaya katılmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı ise ülkemizde örneklem dışında kalan bir ilçede öğrenim gören tüm 9. sınıf öğrencilerinin matematik okuryazarlık düzeylerini tespit etmek ve bu düzeyler ile öğrencilerin akademik başarıları ve öğrenme stilleri arasındaki ilişkiyi ortaya koymaktır. Araştırma nicel araştırma yaklaşımlarından tarama deseninde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemini 2016-2017 eğitim öğretim yılında Balıkesir/İvrindi ilçesinde yer alan farklı lise türlerinde öğrenim gören 214, 9.sınıf öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama araçları PISA 2012 çalışmasında kullanılan matematik okuryazarlığı anketi ve öğrenme stillerini belirlemek için KOLB Öğrenme Stili Envanteridir. Araştırmada uygulamaya katılan öğrencilerin matematik okuryazarlık düzeyinin 2.düzey ve altında olduğu, öğrencilerin matematik okuryazarlık düzeyleri ile matematik başarı puanları arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olduğu, öğrenme stili değişkeni ile anlamlı bir ilişkisinin bulunmadığı sonuçlarına ulaşılmıştır.
According to some reference points, the PISA research is conducted by the OECD for three-year periods in order to determine the level of education in the countries, the deficiencies to be addressed and the measures to be taken in order to assess the knowledge and skills that students in the age of 15 have acquired. As an OECD member in Turkey, he participates in the research with the aim of improving the level of education. The aim of this research is to identify the levels of mathematical literature of all 9th-class students who are studying in a district outside the sample in our country and to reveal the relationship between these levels and the academic achievements of students and the learning styles. The research was carried out in the scan pattern of the quantum research approaches. The sample of the study was created by 214, 9th grade students who studied in different high school types located in the Fishesir/Irindi district in the 2016-2017 educational year. Data collection tools are the KOLB Learning Style Inventory to determine the mathematical literature survey and learning styles used in the PISA 2012 study. The study found that the level of mathematical literature of the students involved in the practice was 2nd and below, that there was a meaningful relationship between mathematical literature levels and mathematical success points, that there was no meaningful relationship with the learning style variable.
In order to determine the level of education of the country according to some reference points, the deficiencies that need to be met and the measures to be taken, the OECD conducts a PISA research, which evaluates the knowledge and skills acquired by the students in the 15-year age group in three-year periods. Turkey participate this research as a member of the OECD in order to raise the level of education. The purpose of this research is stating the mathematical literacy levels of the students who are studying in a county other than the sample in our country, and determining the relationship between these levels and the academic achievement, learning styles of the students. The research has been carried out in scan pattern that is one of the quantitative research approaches. The sample of the study was formed by 214 9th grade students studying in different high school types located in İvrindi county of Balikesir province in 2016-2017 education year. Data collection tools are the mathematics literacy questionnaire used in the PISA 2012 study and the KOLB Learning Style Inventory to determine learning styles. From the analysis of research data it was reached that the level of mathematical literacy of students participating in the study ranks among the second level. It was also established that there was a meaningful relationship between students' mathematical literacy levels and mathematics achievement scores, but there was no meaningful relationship between mathematical literacy level and learning style variables.
