Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to study whether the communication skills of the public internal auditors who work in Turkey differ significantly in terms of age, gender, civil status, total working time in the internal audit staff, study status, faculty and institution in which they work. A total of 798 internal auditors assigned to the 221 public administration in Turkey, 521 of those who accepted this study, participated in the study. The level of communication skills of the staff participating in the study was measured by the Communication Skills Inventory developed by Ersanlı and Balcı (1998) . According to the research findings, the level of communication skills of the public internal auditors in Turkey is high. Depending on the public internal auditors in Turkey, the civil status, the total working hours in the internal audit staff, the state of study and the variables in the faculty they graduate, communication skills have not been statistically significantly different. The findings obtained were interpreted in the light of literature and presented in recommendations.
