Abstract:

This study has been conducted to ascertain the efficiency level of our country's university hospital and determine the importance of Health Information Systems (HIS) on increasing the efficiency level this hospitals. The study scope of 32 university hospital. To measure the efficiency level of hospitals Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) has been used. By using DEA method three different efficiency score that is total efficiency (CRS), technical efficiency (VRS) and scale efficiency have been measured. In order to determine the role of HIS Mann-Whitney U, correlation and regression analysis method have been used. Findings the research show that HIS have positive effects on increasing level university hospitals and hospitals having high level of HIS investments are more efficient than the other hospitals having low level of HIS investments. Besides, HIS have an important role to increase hospitals' outputs.
