Countries are implementing open policies to increase their level of welfare; tries to maximize foreign trade earnings through export. However, imported inputs and energy use in production processes have a significant impact on exports. In this respect, strong relationships are emerging between exports, imports, use of electricity and economic growth in many countries and in Turkey. In this regard the study, monthly exports of 1997M01- 2017M12 period for Turkey, we aimed to investigate the relationship between the import, export, economic growth and electricity consumption variables. The relationships between variables were examined by cointegration and causality tests included in time series analysis. According to the results of the analysis, a long-term relationship was found between the variables. Furthermore, the existence of bilateral causality relations between imports and exports, one-way causality relations from imports to economic growth and oneway causality relations from economic growth to electricity consumption was determined.
