Türkiye’de Cumhuriyetin başından itibaren sınıf öğretmeni yetiştirilmeye önem verilmiş ve günümüzde sınıf öğretmenliği önemli standartlara kavuşturulmuştur. Yetiştirilen sınıf öğretmenlerinin sayı bakımından yetersiz kalması nedeniyle 2000’li yıllara kadar bu mesleğe dışardan atamalar devam etmiştir.Günümüzde öğretmen başına düşen öğrenci sayısı gelişmiş ülkelerin çok gerisinde kalmış, Türkiye genelinde 32 olan bu sayının, göç alan illerimizde 48 ve daha yüksek olduğu hesaplanmıştır.Bu çalışmanın amacı sınıf öğretmenlerinin çalıştıkları eğitim-öğretim sürecinde derslerle ilgili karşılaştıkları sorunları, bunlarla ilgili görüşleri ve tercih ettikleri öğretim teknikleri hakkında bilgi toplamak, konuyla ilgili bundan sonraki tartışmalara yeni öneriler sunmaktır.Araştırma Mart-Mayıs 2003 tarihinde Üsküdar, Kadıköy, Ümraniye ve Maltepe ilçelerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Tesadüfî örneklem sistemiyle 211 sınıf öğretmenine araştırma konusuyla ilgili 25 soruluk görüşme formu düzenlenerek uygulanmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda elde edilen bulgulara göre sınıf öğretmenlerinin önemli bir kısmı okuma-yazma ve dört işlem derslerinin 4. sınıfa kadar devam etmesini, Türkçe-Matematik derslerine daha çok önem verilmesini ve 4. sınıftan itibaren Türkçe, Matematik ve ngilizce gibi derslere branş öğretmenlerinin girmesini istemektedir. Ayrıca sınıf öğretmenlerinin yaklaşık yarısı öğretim sürecinde soru-cevap tekniğini kullanmaktadır.
In Turkey, from the beginning of the Republic, the emphasis has been given to the training of class teachers and today class teaching has been achieved to important standards. As a result of the lack of number of educated class teachers, the assignments to this profession have continued until 2000 years.Today, the number of students per teacher is far behind the developed countries, the number of 32 in all of Turkey is estimated to be 48 or higher in our provinces of migration.The purpose of this study is to collect information about the problems that class teachers encounter in the course of their education and teaching, their opinions and their preferred teaching techniques, and to submit new suggestions to the subsequent discussions on the subject. The research was conducted in March-May 2003 in the districts of Üsküdar, Kadıköy, Ümraniye and Maltepe. According to the findings obtained by the research, a significant portion of class teachers ask that reading-writing and four processing courses continue to the 4th grade, that more attention be paid to the Turkish-Mathematics courses and that from the 4th grade to the 4th grade to the courses such as Turkish, Mathematics and English, branch teachers will enter. Also, about half of class teachers use question-response technique in their teaching process.
