Abstract:

Tanzimat dönemi, Osmanlı imparatorluğunda müslüman halkın yanısıra azınlıkların hak ve özgürlüklerindeki değişme ve gelişmeler açısından hizzat dönemin aydınları tarafından üzerinde durulmağa değer bir dönem olarak kabul edilmektedir. Azınlıkların kendi kültürleri içinde sahip oldukları toplumsal davranış ve etkileşim özgürlüğü onların ulusal kimliklerinin korunması ve sürdürülmesinin naşlıca nedeni olarak İmparatorluğa özgü örneğini sunmaktadır. Bu durum azınlıkların özellikle kendilerinin özgürce ifade imkanı buldukları eğitim ve öğretim hakkının kullanılmasında daha belirgin ve daha açıktır. Diğer alanlara göre eğitim ve öğretim hakkı, bundan yararlanma konusunda tartışma götürmeyecek kadar görünür uygulama örnekleri vermektedir.
