Abstract:

A large number of researchers in the literature analyzed the relationship between budget deficit and current account deficit. The expression of the twin deficits hypothesis, there is a casual relationship between budget deficit and current account deficit. Classical, Keynesian and Monetarist approaches are different from each others. The aim of this study, presence of the twin deficits hypothesis in Poland, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain and Turkey to evaluate the scope of the six emerging market economies. The analyzed countries and Turkey's economy due to similar levels of development and balance of payments imbalances, showing economic fragility.
