Muhasebe mesleğinin yalnızca kayıt tutmaktan ibaret olmadığının anlaşılması ile muhasebenin önemi gittikçe artmıştır. Günümüzde muhasebe çıktıları işletme sahiplerinin, yöneticilerinin ve paydaşların kararlarını etkileyen en önemli unsurlardan biridir. Bu alanda çalışanların genellikle İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi mezunu olduğu düşünüldüğünde öğrenimine devam etmekte olan Y kuşağındaki lisans öğrencilerinin gelecekte bu meslekte yer almaları muhtemeldir. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın temel amacı, Y kuşağında yer alan lisans öğrencilerinin muhasebe mesleğine yönelik algılarının incelenmesidir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerine göre muhasebe mesleği algılarının farklı olup olmadığının incelenmesi de araştırmanın alt amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu doğrultuda, bir devlet üniversitesinde İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesinde okuyan ve Y kuşağında yer alan 125 öğrenci ile anket çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin muhasebe mesleği algısının cinsiyete göre farklılık gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Ancak muhasebe meslek algısının öğrencilerin bölümüne, bulundukları sınıfa ve muhasebe alanında çalışma durumuna göre farklılık göstermediği tespit edilmiştir.
With the understanding that the accounting profession is not just keeping records, accounting’s importance has increased. Today, accounting outcomes are one of the important elements that influence the decisions of business owners, managers and stakeholders. When employees in this field are often considered to be graduates of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, graduate students of the Y generation who are continuing their studies are likely to be involved in this profession in the future. In this context, the main purpose of the study is to study the perceptions of the bachelor's students in the Y generation towards the accounting profession. Furthermore, the study of whether the accounting profession perceptions differ according to the demographic characteristics of the students is also the sub-purpose of the research. In this direction, an survey was conducted with 125 students studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at a state university and belonging to the Y generation. The study found that the student’s accounting profession perceptions vary according to gender. However, it has been found that the accounting profession perception does not differ according to the student’s division, the classroom in which they are and the work status in the accounting field.
With the understanding that the accounting profession is not just about keeping records, the importance of accounting has been increasing. Today, accounting output is one of the most significant factors affecting the decisions of business owners, managers, and stakeholders. It is possible that undergraduate students in Y generation who are still studying when they are thought to have graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences are likely to take part in this profession group in the future. The main objective of studying in this context is to examine the accounting profession perceptions of undergraduate students on the Y generation.In addition, investigating whether the perceptions of accounting profession differ according to the demographic characteristics of the students constitute the sub-purpose of the research. In this direction, a questionnaire study was conducted with 125 students studying at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of a state university. As a result of the research; it has been determined that the perception of the accounting profession of the students varies according to gender. However, it has been determined that the perception of the accounting profession does not differ according to the students’ department, class and working status in accounting area
