Effects Of Emotional Intelligence Education On Students 'Emotional Intelligence Levels

The effects of emotional intelligence on being happy and successful individuals in the work and personal lives of people are revealed by the recent researches that can be improved. It is seen that individuals need to focus on the field of education as it has the effect of enhancing the quality of life and it can be improved. For this reason, it was aimed to prepare a training program to improve the emotional intelligence of the fourth grade students of primary school with this research and to test the effectiveness of this prepared program. This research is an experimental study based on a control group preand post-test pattern model assigned by chance. The study group consists of 48 students who are studying in Karsiyaka Primary School 4 / B and 4 / C classes in the center of Tokat in 2011-2012 academic year. Pre-test and post-test were applied to all students in the experimental and control groups. The obtained data were analyzed by SPSS packet program. Dependent variables and independent variables t test were used in statistical analysis. According to the findings obtained from the research; a significant difference was found between the pre-tests and the post-test scores of groups with no significant difference, that is, the groups that were equivalent, in favor of the experimental group. This difference has led us to conclude that the applied emotional intelligence training is effective on the emotional intelligence level of the experimental group. By developing similar programs, it is thought that a significant contribution can be made in achieving the goal of educating happy and successful individuals.
