Abstract:

Violence against women and children is a major problem in Turkey, as in many parts of the world. Children who witness the violence that women are subject to violence and who are subject to various forms of violence from time to time come with their mothers to the shelter, which is an important tool in the point of interference with violence against women. This study shows what kind of services and support programs are available to children who come to the shelter with their mother and stay here (psychological, economic, healthcare, education, etc.) He asked how they were able to respond to the questions of their skills and qualifications. In this context, deep discussions were held with 43 women left in the four shelters connected to the different local government in the province of Ankara using semi-structured question forms. The study also included the assessments of refugee workers regarding the services provided to children. As a result of this study, many psychological, economic, health, education and services for children in their shelters are inadequate, and women in their shelters are more priority and children are forgotten. These lack of and insufficient services and support prevent children from exposing their potential. It is also believed that this barrier is "building violence" in the form Galtung calls, and that the violence of children who have been forgotten in the shelter can also be addressed in this framework.
