Abstract:

This study suggests an alternative view to understanding the crisis by opposing the form of establishment of the causal relationships of the 2007-2008 crisis, which was called the literature 'Great Sturgeon'. This proposal is basically concrete in David Harvey’s claim that “the misdiagnosis of the cause of the crisis carries the seeds of the future danger” and is shaped by the emphasis that an effort to understand the past will be an effective source of debate for the future. This study, which is questioned by an optimistic emphasis on the understanding of economics and the belief that the crisis is not a drinking element in the system, makes a selective reading on the current critical summer by addressing the crisis in a broad context. This emphasis, arising from the 'correct understanding of the crisis', is not only an outcome of the crisis moment; it also serves as an efficient source for the area in which the post-crisis future is built. In this direction, the study first examines the ancestral crisis approaches which it considers as a critical object, and then conceptualizes the alternative and critical approaches in a current context. In addition, this study, focused on recently developing literature, concrete alternative approaches such as “the time purchased”, “the slowed crisis”, “global Minotauros”. The study ends with the concept of "interregnum" and imitates the importance of creative use of the contradictions arising with the crisis and the importance of exceeding the contradictions.
