This study aims to explore the Association of Fellows of Bakır Maden, which was founded in Ankara and has been actively functioning for a long time, in terms of memory, “hemşehrilik, local identity, mainly focusing on cooperation and solidarity. Many cultural elements that have become traditions in small-scale village / rural societies for many years remain in the city through such associations. However, this situation comes to the fore within the framework of memories in memory based on, regional / regional identity. Communities create a new pattern of solidarity that takes shape around their members in the city. The association showed a direct intense influence on the first generations in the process of urbanization. However, the memories that are remembered in the younger generations are caused by established emotional bonds. The data of the study has been collected through the in-depth interviews with participants being the present and former Chairmen, the founders and the members of the association. In addition to the interviews, on-site observation has been done by the researcher through participating in the meetings, women get-togethers, and annual nights of the association.
