The purpose of this study was to investigate Ghanaian teacher candidates’ opinions about the English instruction at preparatory program of Fırat University School of Foreign Languages. The participants, who has a high level proficiency in English, were attending courses to get a teaching certificate at the Faculty of Education and they were undergoing a period of training as preservice teachers at the School of Foreign Languages in 2015-2016 spring semester. This study aimed at reflecting their perception of instructors, students and the instructional process in an attemt to compare Ghana and Turkey in that respect. In this study phenomenological research design was employed which is a qualitative research design. In order to collect data, semi-structured interviews were conducted with nine teacher candidates who volunteered to take part in the study. The interviews were audio recorded and these recordings were transcribed by both of the researchers. In order to control the realiability of the interviews, another English instructor also transcribed the audio recordings. The findings were obtained by comparing these three transcriptions The data was analyzed by using descriptive analysis. The findings composed three main themes. These findings generally reflected the positive and negative sides of the English instruction at Fırat University School of Foreign Languages.
