Abstract:

Turning the emerging threads, which are because the countries are exposed to change and transformation in the globalizing world, into an opportunity has become a mandatory situation in today's conditions. With the effect of globalization can come up with the development difference between the regions in the country. Regional development and progress confronted us as an important factor for a solution for the inequality between the regions and development. The process of the policy of regional development in Turkey has speeded up and become important, especially after Helsinki Summit in 1999 with beginning of EU harmonization process. In this context, establishing regional development agencies has been added to agenda. The main aim of the developlent agencies is to reveal the dynamics of the region, which they are responsible, and so to develop dynamics and to reach the level of the other developed regions. The other important factor of the regional development is the cooperative system. In the cooperative system, it is the basis to transform the power arising from union into local, regional and national development potential with using this power than making profit. In this study, it will be tried to determine activities of South Aegean Development Agency (TR32 region) on developing the cooperations and the cooperative system in its region and its effects on the cooperations.
