DİJİTAL ÇAĞA UYUMLU LOGOLAR TASARLAMAK

Abstract:

İçinde bulunduğumuz dijital çağda insanların kullanım alışkanlıkları günden güne değişmektedir. Son on yılda hızla geliştirilen dokunmatik akıllı telefonlar ile başlayan bu süreç akıllı saatler gibi mobil cihazlarla devam etmektedir. Bu değişimin kaçınılmaz bir sonucu olarak tüketim alışkanlıkları da paralel olarak değişmekte, markaların da bu değişime uyum sağlaması gerekmektedir. Ancak mevcut örnekler incelendiğinde birçok markanın bu sürece adapte olamadığı görülmektedir. Firmaların basılı tanıtım materyalleri, promosyon ürünleri veya açık hava reklamları için tasarlanmış logoları değiştirilmeden ve uyarlanmadan dijital platformlarda da kullanılmaya devam edilmektedir. Kimi zaman ince çizgilerin kullanıldığı kimi zamanda iç içe geçen öğelerin kullanıldığı bu logoların akıllı telefonlar gibi küçük ekranlarda sadece boyutları değiştirilerek kullanılması algı sorunlarına ya da bulanıklaşmaya neden olabilmektedir. Yapılan araştırmalar sonuncunda günümüzde tek bir logo tasarlanıp bunun her ortama uygulanması yaklaşımının yetersiz kaldığı saptanmıştır. Bu sorunu çözmek adına her ortamda kullanılan sadece tek bir logo tasarlanması yerine, her platforma uyum sağlayabilen duyarlı logo versiyonlarının tasarlanmasının daha uygun bir yaklaşım olacağı tavsiye edilmektedir. Bu çalışmada öncelikle yazılımcıların uzun süredir internet sitelerinin farklı dijital platformlara uyum sağlayabilmeleri için kullandıkları duyarlı kullanıcı arayüz tasarım yaklaşımı analiz edilmiş olup, logo tasarımcılarının bu yaklaşımdan nasıl faydalanabileceği tartışılmıştır. Ayrıca yurtdışındaki farklı tasarımcıların bu konuya yaklaşımları, çözüm önerisi olarak hazırladıkları duyarlı logo tasarımları örnekler üzerinden çözümlenmiştir. Bu bilgiler ışığında dijital çağa ayak uydurabilecek duyarlı logolar tasarlanırken kullanılabilecek yaklaşımlar ve dikkat edilmesi gereken unsurlar başlıklar halinde sunulmuştur. Dijital çağa uyum sürecinde kullanılması önerilen duyarlı logo tasarımı anlayışının markalara sağlayabileceği katkılar sonuç ve öneriler bölümünde ortaya konmuştur.

In the digital age we are living in, the daily habits of people are changing day by day. This period, which has been started with the development of touch screen smart phones in the last decade, and it continues with wearable mobile devices such as smart watches. As an inevitable consequence of this change, our consumption habits are changing in parallel and brands will have to keep up with this change. However, when the existing examples were examined, it was found that many brands could not keep up with this process. Brand logos, which designed for printed promotional materials, promotional products or outdoor advertisements, continue to be used on digital platforms without any change or adaptation. Many brands are just shirinking their logo, which includes thin lines or intertwined elements, to use on small screens, such as smartphones, which causing perception problems or blurring. As a result of the research, it is determined that a single logo is designed and applied to each platform is insufficient. In order to solve this problem, it is suggested that it would be more appropriate to design responsive logo versions that can adapt to any platform instead of designing just one logo for each platform. In this study, first of all, the responsive user interface design approach used by the software developers to adapt their websites to different digital platforms has been analyzed. Then, how logo designers can benefit from this approach is discussed. In addition, responsive logo designs prepared by different designers abroad as a solution proposal were analyzed through examples. In the light of this information, approaches and elements that can be used in designing responsive logos that can keep up with the digital age are presented in titles. The contributions of the responsive logo design approach to the brands that can be used in the adaptation process to the digital age are presented in the results and suggestions section.
