So many results that aren't mine?

Abstract:

Araştırmanın amacı okul öncesi eğitimi öğretmen adaylarının fen öğretimi tutumları ile bilim ve teknoloji hakkındaki görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada karma yöntem araştırmalarından açımlayıcı sıralı desen kullanılmıştır. Buna göre araştırmanın nicel boyutunu oluşturan birinci aşamasında okul öncesi öğretmen adaylarının fen öğretimine ilişkin tutumları belirlenmiş; buna bağlı olarak nitel boyutunu oluşturan ikinci aşamasında ise öğretmen adaylarının bilim ve teknoloji hakkındaki görüşleri benzetişimler aracılığıyla incelenmiştir. Araştırmaya Trakya Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi Okul Öncesi Eğitimi Anabilim Dalı’nda 2017-18 eğitim öğretim yılında eğitime devam eden 4. sınıf öğretmen adayları arasından araştırmaya katılmayı gönüllü olarak kabul eden toplam 90 katılımcı dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre öğretmen adaylarının fen öğretimine yönelik tutumlarının orta ve üzeri düzeyde olduğu görülmektedir. Bununla birlikte öğretmen adaylarının bilim kavramını çoğunlukla değişme ve gelişme, aydınlatma ve rehber olma, bilgi kaynağı olma özellikleri ile algıladıkları; teknolojiyi ise değişim-gelişim, kullanıma göre olumlu ve olumsuz yönler ile ihtiyaç olma özellikleriyle betimledikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The current study aims to investigate prospective preschool teachers’ attitudes towards science education and their views of science and technology. An explanatory sequential mixed methods design was used to capture the attitudes of prospective preschool teachers towards science education first. Then, their views of science and technology were investigated with the use of analogies. The sample of the study was made up of 90 senior students at Trakya University, Department of Preschool Education and the data was collected in the Fall of 2017 and Spring 2018. The results showed that the prospective preschool teachers had high and moderate level of attitudes towards science education. In addition, the views of the prospective teachers regarding science were mostly associated with change, developments, enlightenment, guidance and source of information while they described technology using the words for "change-development", "positive and negative impacts depending on the intention of use" and "need".
