Bitkiler, çiçekler, meyveler Anadolu'nun tarihi boyunca süsleme ögesi olarak yer almıştır. Meyveler ve elma halk hikayelerine, masallara, destanlara, şiirlere, geleneklere konu olmuş, rüya yorumlarında, mitolojide yer almıştır. Elma, Türk mitolojisinde kutsal sayılan ve meyvesi yendiğinde, kişiye ölümsüzlük kazandıran ağaçlardan biridir. Türk kültüründe elma, ölümsüzlük, erkek çocuk, murat, soyun devamlılığı, güzellik, bekaret, verimlilik, ebedîlik, gençlik, kuvvet, sağlık, sevgi, yaşam, bağlılık, barış, iyi niyet ve hatta inancı yani sembolize etmektedir. Elma köşk, çeşme, cami gibi mimari eserlerin süslemelerinde genellikle elma ağacı olarak, minyatürlerde genellikle meyve tasviri olarak, mezar taşlarında hem ağaç, hem meyve, bakır işlerinin süslemelerinde yapraklı meyve olarak kullanılmıştır. Osmanlı saray kumaşlarında ve Anadolu işlemelerinde, halı ve kilim dokumalarda, el örgülerinde, yöresel giysilerinde, yazmalarda, elma ağacı, elma meyvesi, çiçekli elma dalı şeklinde tasvir edilmiştir. Güzel kokusu, rengi, biçimi nedeniyle elma, dokumalara motif olarak girmiş, desenlere adını vermiştir. Bu makalede halk kültüründe, mitolojide, sanatın çeşitli alanlarında süsleme ögesi olarak kullanılan elma, renk, biçim ve form özellikleri açısından ele alınmış ve sembolik anlamları irdelenmiştir. Fruits and apple has been the subject of folk tales, fairy tales, epics, poems, traditions, took place in interpretations of dreams and mythology. Apple is one of the trees accepted holy and when eaten its fruit gives people the immortality. Apple symbolizes youth, immortality, boy, desire, and the continuity of lineage, beauty, virginity, fertility, eternity, youth, strength, health, love, life, loyalty, peace, goodwill, and even faith in Turkish culture. Apple has been used often in the decorations of architectural monuments such as mosques, pavilion, and fountains as apple tree, in the miniatures as depiction of fruit, in grave stones both trees and fruits, in the decoration of copper works as leaf fruit. It is depicted as apple tree, apple fruit, in the form of flowering apple branch in Ottoman palace fabrics and the Anatolian embroideries, carpets and rugs, hand-lattices, regional costumes, yazmas. Due to its nice smell, color, and the shape, apple has been entered textiles into as motif and given its own name to patterns. In this article apple that used as a decorative element in various fields of art, in folklore is evaluated in terms of color, shape and form features and discussed its symbolic meanings. Abstract:

Plants, flowers, fruits have been placed as decorative objects throughout the history of Anadolu. Fruits and apples have been the subject of people's stories, fairy tales, stories, poems, traditions, in dreams, mythology. The apple is one of the trees that are considered holy in Turkish mythology and when the fruit is defeated, it is one of the trees that gives the person immortality. In the Turkish culture, the apple symbolizes immortality, childhood, muracy, continuity, beauty, solitude, productivity, eternity, youth, strength, health, love, life, devotion, peace, good intention and even faith. In the decorations of architectural works such as apple corner, fountain, mosque, it is often used as an apple tree, in miniatures it is often used as a fruit painting, in tomb stones it is used as a leafed fruit in the decorations of both trees, and fruit, and copper works. In the Ottoman palace tissues and in the Anadolu processes, it is painted in the form of roof and cylinder documents, in handhelds, in local clothes, in writings, apple tree, apple fruit, flowered apple branch. Because of its beautiful smell, color, shape, the apple entered the documents as a motivation, named the patterns. In this article, the characteristics of the apples, color, shape and shape, which are used as decorative objects in the popular culture, mythology, various fields of art, are discussed and the symbolic meanings are discussed.
