With the industrial revolution, cities have been getting bigger continiously because of the increasing population of cities, the physical enlargement of business areas up to now. The cultural structure of the city and multi-‐level social structure living in it, work within an interaction. In this regard, communication is more important. Visual communication is achieved with typography which is designing action of font characters on the surface. Typography mostly takes place in graphic design products that are prepared to carry out the communication with the society living in the city. The subject of this study is the typography, used in the outdoor and indoor areas of İzmir and Milano as the sample cities., depending on urban culture and social structure. While examining the typography in the graphic design products of two cities, the effect of the city's social structure and urban culture on graphic design products and typography have been questioned.
