Abstract:

SMEs contribute greatly to Turkish economy with respect to import, export and national employment. Today, their problems that arise from external and internal factors such as their conceptual contexts, formations and their geographical distribution constitute an important study field. Handling the problems of SMEs bears importance to provide economical and social development as well as to reach 2023 national targets since they are the fundamental building blocks of the country‟s socioeconomic progress. With this study, by examining the problems of SMEs in the industrial district of Gebze, which provide great contribution to industrial output of the country, suggestions of owners of SMEs have been discussed. In depth interviews with the owners of SMEs registered to Gebze Chamber of Commerce and those that operate in Gebze industrial district have been conducted and analyzed by using context analysis method
