Abstract:

The objective of this study is to reveal the importance of parental factor in physical training and sports participation and to analyse the point of view of parents about participation of their children into physical training and sports activities based on the literature on this subject. Participation of children into physical training and sports activities is highly related to the point of view of their parents on this issue. The attitude of the parents towards this issue is almost the most decisive element in whether or not their children would participate into such activities. Some parents are aware of the positive effect of physical training and sports on child's development and socialization process and support their children's participation into such activities whereas most parents do not welcome their children's participation into such activities. The idea which is very common in the society that sports have a negative effect on scholar success and cause injuries is the leading factor that leads parents to display a negative attitude towards participation of their children in physical training and sports activities. Today parents' approach to the sports is much more positive than it used to be in the past, and they encourage their children to do sports. Although there are still parents who think that sports activities impede the scholar success of their children, there are many parents who pay an amount of money to recruit their children to the sports-related courses.
