Violence at schools has become an important problem to the society. The spread of violence at schools and around its environments, the studies on preventing and on decreasing the violence has gained much more importance. Most of the programmes on prevention of violence of children and teenagers, try to define “risk factors” which effect, violence risk and also “ protective factors” which may reduce the risks in question. In recent years, the importance of “Resiliency” has been realised as a part of the programmes, which aim to decrease the behaviours at level of high risk. The term “Resiliency”, presents a new and different point of view to understand how children, teenagers and adults can be strong in negative life conditions. The literature on risks and resiliency, underline the necessity for improving the capacity of dealing with the problems confronted in schools, and providing opportunities and environment for the people to improve themselves at social, academic areas and also at vocational adequacy for a qualified life. The researches on violence at schools and resiliency; considering the needs for children and teenagers to gain positive personal characteristics, notes the necessity for personal sufficiency to help them in solving their problems when they confront negative life conditions. The goal of this research is to discuss the resiliency, which also includes the risk and protective factors in the respect of prevention of violence seen among the students at schools. With this aim, the term “violence” has been explained; violence seen among the students at schools has been discussed; and the activities, which provide the resiliency in order to prevent and/or decrease violence, have also been emphasized.
