Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of the parents’ attitudes on students’ attitudes towards science. Therefore, this study is important defining about how the parents’ attitudes affect students’ attitudes towards science. In the study, The Scale of Attitudes towards Science and The Scale of Perception about Parents’ Attitudes towards Science were developed by the reserachers in order to determine the students’ attitudes and their perceptions about their parents’ atittudes towards science. The pariticipants were randomly selected among primary school students. The students’ attitudes towards science and their perceptions about their parents’ atittudes towards science were evaluated for any significant relation. The data was analysed by using SPSS 11.0. At the end it was seen that parents’ attitudes have effects on students’ attitudes toward science.
