In this study, it was aimed to determine whether high school students’ family functioning and locus of control is differentiated by gender, education level of parent, parental incompatibility and the relationship between locus of control and family functioning. The study performed with 815 students. The data about high school students’ perception of family functioning was collected by “Family Assessment Scale” (Bulut, 1990) and data about locus of control was gathered by “Nowicki-Strickland Locus of Control Scale” (Yeşilyaprak, 1988). It was also used “Personal Information Form” for collecting personal and parental data. In data anaysis, it was used t-test, one-way ANOVA, Kruskal Wallis Test, Tukey HSD Test, Mann Whitney U Test, Stepwise Regression Model. It was found that family functioning was differentiated by gender, education level of fathers and parental incompatibility but it was found that family functioning was not differentiated by education level of mother. It was determined that students’ locus of control was differentiated by gender, parental incompatibility. However, education level of parents did not make any difference on students’ locus of control. It was determined that general functions, affective involvement, communication and roles from family functioning features predicted statistically meaningful students’ locus of control.
