Objective: The aims of this study were to explore the level of loneliness, affecting factors and their relationships to sociodemographic variables among nursing students of the Health High School at Sinop University. Method:The study sample consisted of 154 Health High School students in Sinop University. In the study data were collected via a 15–items questionnaire and UCLA loneliness scale in 2007. Conclusion: It has been found out the average of their age is 20,18±1,56, and 65,6 % of these students are staying with their friends in a flat, 34,4 % of them were staying High School dormitory. Also it was determined that the most of the patients 48.1% have middle of level loneliness points (36,54±7,72). In accordance with the findings obtained from the research carried out, it was found out that loneliness levels of the undergraduates varied according to mothers’ educational levels and jobs, fathers’ educational levels and they meet or not university education expenses (p<0,05). It is found that the loneliness levels was increased with decreasing mother education level (x²:18,199, p<0.05). Also it is found that the loneliness levels was increased with not meeting expenses in university (x²:10,448, p<0.05). A significant relationship did not exist between level of loneliness and attend school of class, place of residence, place of family living, fathers’ jobs, level of income, to evaluate self success state in university (p>0,05).
